Folks, we made it. April 11, and the NBA season is over. For some teams, this is the end of the road, and time to see if they can get Zion. For others, this is the beginning of the playoffs. Before we move on, I want to highlight this season by making my choices for all of the accolades. This means All-NBA teams, All-Rookie teams, All-Defensive teams, and of course, the hardware itself. It was a great season, (heck, this week alone was amazing), and tons of players put on a show. Lets give them their time to shine.

Russell Wilson’s Deadline

April 15.

Yes, that is the deadline to file your taxes (DON’T MAKE THE IRS MAD FOLKS!), but it is also the deadline that Russell Wilson has given the Seattle Seahawks for a new contract.

Okay, I am going to say this right off the bat: Dwyane Wade had a better career than Paul Pierce.

Did everyone get that? Did everyone see I wrote that? Are we good? Okay, good.

As we saw on Friday night, Paul Pierce lit a fire when he said he had a better career than Dwyane Wade. Before we go any further, I just want you to hear Pierce’s logic:

Who To Watch (April 5 – April 11)

Hi everyone, and welcome back to Who to Watch.

Here’s our recap: in baseball, Bryce Haper made Nick look like an idiot, looking like a bona fide superstar last week; the Red Sox look… not good, Christian Yelich is hitting lots of dingers, Daniel Hess of the Orioles was pulled during a PERFECT GAME, and somehow, the SEATTLE MARINERS are the best team in the league at 7-1. In college hoops, the Men’s Final Four will feature Virginia, Auburn, Michigan State, and Texas Tech, and we will see a champion crowned on Monday night. On the women’s side, Oregon will face Baylor, while UCONN will face Notre Dame, that championship game will be Sunday. In NBA news, we saw Russell Westbrook have a historic triple-double (more on that from Kerm), Anthony Davis get fined for giving a fan the finger (have to figure they’ll all flip him the bird during the last home game of the season), and Giannis had a casual 45/13/6 performance last night. OKC and the Spurs clinched playoff spots, and seeding is still shaking itself out in the West. In the East, there is still a seeds 3 through 5 are still not set, but much more interesting is the battle for seeds 6 through 8, which essentially looks like a four-team battle between Detroit, Brooklyn, Orlando and Miami; those teams are separated by just one game.

Before we give everyone the rundown for the next week, we at Hold My Drink Sports just want to take a moment to give our respects to Nipsey Hussle, who was killed last Sunday. Our thoughts go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.

Brad Stevens 2020?

As a Celtics fan, I think Brad Stevens is a great leader (even if this season has been a bit less than ideal at times).  Ever since the Celtics rebuild began to take positive strides – coinciding around the last presidential election cycle – fans began to joke about Brad running for president (as well as other coaches such as Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr).  Obviously, Brad isn’t looking to run for office anytime soon.

However, as candidates are throwing their hat in the ring for the 2020 presidential election, he has an uncanny look-alike looking to become the next leader of the United States.
