NBA “Midseason” Award Winners

Okay, so “technically” the NBA has already gone past the halfway point, with all teams having played over 50 games, but the All-Star break serves as a ceremonial end to the first half of the NBA season. Players get a week to rest, the league showcases it’s stars, and we gear up for postseason runs, with the playoffs starting in just less than two months.

Also, all the people who spent their time watching football one day a week now have free time to focus on basketball (which is funny, because it’s on Monday-Saturday, but I digress). More games will be seen on prime time (Saturday Nights on ABC anyone!?), and a national focus will emerge.

There’s been lots of good basketball played this season, and through this time, lets go over who’s ahead of the pack for award season. Continue reading “NBA “Midseason” Award Winners”

Happy Friday everyone! Since we last met, the Patriots lost to the Steelers, and the Celtics are in the midst of a 2-game losing streak.  Paul George and James Harden are going nuclear, while LeBron James was blocked (which according to Max Kellerman, means he’s done).  Josh Gordon hit a road block on the road to recovery (we wish him well), and Tom Brady might have an MCL tear.  As the NFL season makes its way towards a conclusion, it is playoff scenario season, as 14 teams are vying for the 7 remaining playoff spots in the league.  And finally, next Tuesday is Christmas Day, which means TONS of great basketball.

With that, allow us at Hold My Drink Sports to wish you a wonderful holiday season.

Andy is away this week in Minnesota, so we have Mike (who made his debut to the page this past week) filling in for him.

Welcome to another edition of Who to Watch!

Since we last met, the Rams clinched a playoff birth, Mark Sanchez was seen on a football field, and Gordon Hayward came back to life.  OBJ and Tarik Cohen threw some touchdowns, Cam Newton threw a lot of interceptions, and Phillip Lindsey continues to make every GM in the NFL stupid for not drafting him.  Contrary to popular belief, LeBron James is not washed. Oh, and a belated happy birthday to the Greek Freak, who turned 24 yesterday… that’s right, nowhere near his peak, folks.

Lets see who the crew* has their eyes on for this upcoming week

*Kerm was not able to contribute this week.  He’s been working hard in the lab with 808s and Ankle Breaks (LISTEN HERE), so we forgive him.
